They were certainly a clever idea in book 3, however, they are far too easily manipulated(in my opinion) to return in book seven.
Supposedly they were all destroyed, and as of yet I have great faith in that.

Speeching of time turners, is it me or was it mentions in teh fifth book when harry and the other fought against the death eater didn't it mention that some time turner got destroyed? I remeber something like that so that leaves the question of how many time turner are there? And why hasn't anyone (apart from Hermione) used it to thier advantage, I know it's law but how would anyone know about it? Which leaves another question, did DUmbledore have one? He seems to know way to much and full on unquestionable information before be died. Would the mention of teh time turner come back in the fifth book?

So if they all got destroyed, maybe Dumbeldore has one, and maybe Harry finds it, or it was left in his possesion as the only time turner left.

This is very true. Imagine the damage that could be done, of course, the further back you go the more dangerous it will be.
